Washington Strategies provides clients with the research and issues management services critical to a successful legislative, public policy, or public relations campaign. The firm specializes in comparative and issues research and the incorporation of such information into an overall government and public affairs strategy.

Specifically, the firm reviews and analyzes public records; predicts opponents’ likely messages and strategies; recommends counterstrategies; and conducts ongoing issues monitoring.  Concepts or themes developed from the research are used as the foundation of winning communications strategies.

Specific projects include:

  • Tracking and monitoring marine fisheries legislation and federal policy;

  • Researching and exploring opportunities in United States international aid programs, specifically regarding U.S. agricultural products and U.S. assistance to the Middle East;

  • Following legislative and policy developments as the U.S. works to protect its critical infrastructure – from development of the Department of Homeland Security to more specific efforts such as chemical plant security issues;

  • Researching federal affordable housing opportunities, particularly for minorities;

  • General legislative monitoring, such as through maintaining in-depth and “inside” information on the annual appropriations process.
